Racing Cars For Sale

1997 Reynard / CART Chassis 25 and 26

PPI/Max Papis Reynards for Sale – Complete turn-key racing package 1997 Models, Chassis 25 and 26 These cars were actually driven by Max Papis for PPI in 1997, 1998, and 1999. Chassis 26 was the primary car driven in most of the road circuit events. Chassis 25 was more of a back-up car, but was raced on occasion. Chassis 26 is a running and race-ready car. It can be driven in any series that allows unlimited open wheel cars, BOSS or similar series. Of course, it can also be used for any track day where open wheel cars are allowed. This car is in excellent restored condition, with a just a few scratches, chips, and other “features” of a race car. No expense was spared in making this car a user-friendly, fast, and reliable race-car. Please note that while much of the car is original, it is not “exactly as it was raced”. All parts are there to restore to as-raced condition, however, this car was essentially built for a good amateur driver who doesn’t want to spend all of his track days trying to make an exotic car run. If you have ever been to a day where half of the guys can’t get their cars running because they are too sophisticated, then you will appreciate the simplicity and cleanliness of this conversion. To begin, unlike most other conversions, the body length and wheelbase have NOT been modified in any way. Rather, a 4.3 liter Chevy V-6 has been installed, with custom aluminum spacer plates to ensure that the car’s wheelbase and suspension remain exactly as Reynard intended in the original production. The motor puts out approximately 525hp and is normally aspirated. The current motor is a zero-hour motor. AIM MXL dash, 6-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox (3 track days on it), over 1500 hours were spent on the restoration. All of the Indy electronics have been stripped out of this car (included) in order to make it completely reliable and worry free. The Chevy motor is powerful, durable, and parts can still be found and purchased relatively inexpensively. Unlike most of these cars, the car has an onboard starter, which helps make it really easy to track without an entire team. Chassis: 1997 Reynard, hand-laid full carbon fiber Engine: Chevy 4.3 liter, approx 525hp (NASCAR Busch Series motor from 90’s) Transmission: Xtrac 6-speed sequential with reverse Condition: Excellent, completely restored Spares: Full rolling chassis #25 (less one upper arm which is a show-piece), includes all body panels and oval nose. Chassis 25 is a complete rolling chassis and can either be made into a runner or used for parts. It is in very good condition with some minor surface rust on some of the suspension bits. 4 sets of wheels in total, 3 sets are newly refinished and powder coated 2 spare Xtrac transaxles, one is complete and fully rebuilt, the other should be complete except for some gears. Set of tire warmers Various engine bits for spare motor. Just about everything is there. If you want a spare motor completed, this can be arranged with the sale. Cars are presently in the US but can easily be shipped worldwide. Of course, purchase includes all set-up information and contact information of lots of folks who can provide any needed support. If you’ve ever wanted to drive an Indy car or F1 car, this is your chance to get something that is completely and utterly ready to go, professionally built, easy to maintain, and fun to drive, with tens of thousands in spare parts included. Nothing else is needed besides you in the seat! Price: £75,000, unique trades considered
